Healthcare

Sevadham’s primary aim always has been to deliver health care services along with community participation.

  • Health education
    Health education has always been the primary thrust of Sevadham’s efforts.  Sevadham has successfully used the religious and traditional media for community education.
  • AIDS
    Sevadham Trust is actively working for creating awareness about Aids under the AIDS control programme.
  • Leprosy
    Sevadham has also undertaken the leprosy eradication program in the entire tribal belt of Pune district.
  • Mobile clinics
    Sevadham also has two mobile clinics to provide health services to inaccessible areas at virtually no cost.


Education

  • Balwadi’s (Nursery schools) and residential school(Ashramshala)
    With the idea of inculcating good healthy, hygienic habits right from the childhood Sevadham started ‘Balwadi’ or Nursery schools in every village and is also running residential school for the tribals.
  • Non-formal education programmes
    Sevadham has undertaken Non-formal education programmes recognizing the increasing dropout percentage with an aim to re-enter children again in formal education system.
  • Adult literacy campaigns
    Sevadham takes active part in literacy campaign and was active partner in district literacy mission. Sevadham was especially active in women literacy programme.


Women Empowerment

  • Mahila mandals and self help groups
    At Sevadham, empowerment of women has been one of the primary aims. Since its inception, Sevadham started organizing women’s groups or Mahila mandals and involved them in different health activities and forming self help groups and linking them to the banking systems.


Socio-Economic Development

  • Co-operative society of Adivasi’s (Tribals)
    Sevadham formed the co-operative society of Adivasi’s (Tribals) as a part of its efforts towards economic development by undertaking traditional as well as modern economic ventures.
  • Social forestry and watershed management
    Sevadham also has undertaken a sustainable eco-development project by planting trees in land owned by tribal farmers. Sevadham has undertaken watershed development project under the - ‘Drought prone Area Programme’ through District rural development Authority.
