Sevadham has been working steadily since its inception in 1978. The organization has been working towards the development of underprivileged and economically weaker sections of the society and the community at large in the following areas- 

Urban Slums:
 

Sevadham activities in the urban slums mainly comprise of activities in Pune slums and Pune city these include-

  • Healthcare
  • Education

1) Healthcare
Sevadham has established about three static clinics in the slums of Pune to cater to the healthcare needs of the people. It also has outreach programmes aimed at building awareness in about:-

  • Mother and Newborn health
  • Tuberculosis
  • Leprosy
  • AIDS and other Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Outreach programmes for AIDS also comprise of 

  • Home based care
  • Truckers intervention         

2) Education
Sevadham in the urban slums provides

  • Support classes
  • Child to child: Right based & Participatory Methodology & Adolescent training      
  • Non-formal Education
  • Balwadi’s or nursery schools
 
Semi - Urban Areas:
 

Sevadham activities in the Semi-urban areas also comprise of activities which include

  • Healthcare
  • Education

  • Multi-specialty hospital at Talegaon
  • Ambulance services

2) Education

  • Library
  • Nursing School
  • DAI training course
 
Rural & Tribal Areas:
 

Sevadham’s activities in Rural and the Tribal areas are again divided into

  • Women Empowerment Initiatives

Healthcare Initiatives in these areas can further be divided into
 

  • Curative Healthcare Initiatives
  • Preventive Healthcare Initiatives

Curative Healthcare Initiatives comprise of :

  • Static healthcare facilities such as hospitals, dispensaries and Sub-centre’s 
  • Mobile clinics

The mobile clinics provide general treatment and are also equipped to provide treatment for leprosy, Tuberculosis and Mother and child healthcare
- Outreach initiatives for stigmatized diseases –Tuberculosis, Leprosy and AIDS

Preventive Healthcare Initiatives:
The Preventive Initiatives comprise of 

  • Reproductive & Child Health Programme (RCH)
  • Leprosy eradication programme
  • AIDS prevention activities
  • Prevention of Tuberculosis

 
2) Education
Educational initiatives in Rural and Tribal areas involve

  • Ashram school
  • Library
  • Balwadi

  • Adolescent Group
  • Tribal Mensa

3)Women Empowerment Initiatives
Women empowerment initiatives include

  • Self Help Groups with bank linkages
  • Mahila mandals

Networking & Capacity Development:
 

Sevadham has worked as the state nodal agency for AIDS programmes between 1994- 98. It is also recognized as the mother agency for

Reproductive Child Health Programme (RCH)
  • Indian System of Medicine & Homoeopathy(ISM&H)

Sevadham in order to implement programmes networks with other
Non Governmental Organization’s (NGO)
Community Based Organization’s (CBO)
Self Help Groups (SHG)

Sevadham also networks with the government at various levels for implementation and facilitation of programmes these levels are
