Care and Support for HIV/ AIDS Infected and Affected:

PAI PROJECT – PUNE( Lead Agency):
The project started with 23 partners in 15 districts of Maharashtra with 1500 C.L.H.A.s (Children living with HIV/AIDS).

Objectives: |
1. To provide adherence, follow-up & ongoing enrollment in HIV care & treatment through provision of psychological, nutritional supplementation & travel support. |
Activities: |
1. Identify the C.L.H.A.
2. Get their CD4 & other tests.
3. Those requiring ART to start ART from nearest ART Centre.
4. Follow-up of children at least once in 15 days.
5. Follow-up those C.L.H.A. who are not on ART for report test. |
Achievement: |
1. 2,635 C.L.H.A. registered in the State of Maharashtra in Government ART Centre.
2. Out of that 1,403 C.L.H.A.s referred by Clinton Foundation Project are taking ART Drugs at Govt. ART Centre free of cost |
Greater Achievement: |
1. Sevadham Trust is the 1st Lead Partner in Maharashtra who is running the project in time.
2. In 2008 – 2009 Clinton Foundation evaluated the Project and declared it as the ‘Best Project’ of Maharashtra among all Lead Partners. |
Future Plans for the Improvement: |
1. A new project named S.P.I.R.I.T. may come to Sevadham.
2. The future planning will be based on as per the project. |
2) PAI PROJECT - SOLAPUR:
(IMPLEMENTING AGENCY FOR SOLAPUR DISTRICT)

Achievement: |
1. 34 nos. of HIV+ve children given psyho- social support
2. CD4 and ART through ART Centre.
3. Nutrition supplements to 34 HIV +ve children.
4. Travel Support +ve Children. |
3) HBC Pune:
In November 2000 Sevadham Trust in partnership with Project Concern International (PCI) and NMP started a Home Based Care Project called as PathWay Project for HIV / AIDS patients wherein PCI was the Lead partner. Funding support was from CDC Atlanta USA.
Under this project various strategies were used to encourage people to come forward for getting tested, early notification to the spouse, acceptance of the status corresponding change in behaviour, self care etc. Strict confidentiality was maintained and treatment for opportunistic infections was provided.
Under this programme almost all the slum areas in Pune were covered and more than 27 hundred patients were identified and given care and support . For sustainability of the programme part of the area was given to Sevadham Trust for independently implementing the programme since 2004
