Objectives: |
1. Creating awareness about Leprosy & TB to encourage people with suspected signs & symptoms of diseases to report voluntarily & seek treatment.
2. Assisting them to undergo examination, investigation & completion of treatment.
3. Reducing stigma & discrimination and creating open atmosphere in which people can openly come out for testing & treatment.
4. Extend necessary support services to prevent and treat deformity.
5. To provide services for socio – economic rehabilitation. |
Initially the working pattern was based on SET (survey, Education & treatment) but after integration (in 2004) the working pattern was totally changed. Treatment part was integrated with general health services. Now Sevadham trust is working for deformed patients to provide them POID/DPMR/IEC services all voluntarily reported new cases were referred to govt. dispensary/Hospital for treatment. In changing scenario trust started RNTCP activities from 2004 along with some issues regarding general health activities.

1. Leprosy cases detected 8,560.
2. Leprosy cured cases 7,069.
3. Deformity cases under care 274.
4. School Aids given to infected & affected children 36 nos.
5. Vocational Training to infected & affected students 8 nos.
6. Socio Economical Rehabilitation
Business loan 61 nos. Housing loan 13 nos.
7. TB Cases detected through intensive health education 1,578.

Greater Achievement: |
1. 2 nos. of major residential camps conducted for needy deformity cases by support of community. This camps mainly for care & practical demonstration of physiotherapy for deformed cases.
2. Identified & given training to 100 volunteers from community.
3. Established Self-Help Groups from community including Leprosy & TB patients. |
