Sevadham Hospital – Talegaon : |
| |
This is a 50 bedded multi-specialty hospital and acts as a main referral hospital for our Vadeshwar and Kamshet rural hospitals. Specialist consultant services in all fields are available in this hospital with almost all medical facilities, including an operation theatre. The recent addition of a Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit for children has been very useful for newborns. On an average per year we have around 15,000 O.P.D. and 1,500 I.P.D. |

Sevadham Hospital – Vadeshwar: |

This is 16 bedded hospital with facilities of Operation Theatre, X- ray, Testing Laboratory etc. Further facilities of specialist consultant services are available in the field of Gynecology, Pediatrics, Skin, Heart, Ophthalmology etc on particular days in a week. National programmes such as Family Planning, Blindness Control, Malaria, Leprosy, T. B., and Child Health Care are also regularly carried out. On an average per year there are 10,000 patients in O.P.D. and 800 patients in I.P.D. which include deliveries, minor surgery, family planning operations etc. |

Mobile Clinic: |
| |
Sevadham provides Mobile Clinics facilities to cater the health services to the needy people for whom the present centers were so far away as to become virtually unaffordable and in accessible to take advantage of. It offers free medical services to the tribal villages in Ambegaon and Junner Tahasil under Government of India Project. |

Leprosy Eradication Programme: |
| |
Under funding from “Swiss Emmaus Leprosy Relief Work – India” at Switzerland, this programme is implemented in rural and tribal areas of Khed, Junner, Ambegaon and Maval Talukas of Pune District covering area of 1650 sq. kms. and a population of 1, 50,000 in 182 villages. In the urban area a population of 5, 60,000 are served in 90 Slums of 35 Wards of Pune City covering 100 sq. kms area. House to house surveys, school surveys, contact surveys are carried out regularly. Patients are treated and also rehabilitation is done in some cases. Slide Shows, Lectures, Distribution of pamphlets are regularly organized. |

Aids Control Programme: |
| |
Sevadham Trust started working for creating awareness about Aids since 1991. Initially the focus was on creating mass awareness by using different publicity measures but soon specific groups were identified & trainers training programmes were started. Sevadham has trained trainers from varied groups such as Anganwadi workers, Slum dwellers, Industrial workers, Medical & paramedical people, Rikshaw drivers, Students, Teachers, Barbers, Beauticians & various other groups. |

Looking at its commitment & work Government of Maharashtra selected Sevadham on State Aids Control Committee & later as NGO Nodal Agency in 1994. As a Nodal Agency Sevadham has contacted large number of NGOs in almost all the districts of Maharashtra & Motivated & trained them to take up Aids Control Programmes.
Apart from involving NGOs Sevadham Trust has been taking special efforts to involve
1. Professional bodies like I.M.A., NIMA and Dental Association etc.
2. Special Workshops for officers of Bharat Scouts - Guides from all over Maharashtra.
3. Associations of Headmasters, Teachers, Hair Cutting Saloons, and Beauticians etc. were involved.
4. Institutions - Special workshops were arranged for involving Government & Private Medical Colleges in Aids programme 218 Professors from 18 Government & 18 Private Colleges attended three days workshops. |

Training for D.T.O.S & S.T.D. officers: |
| |
District Tuberculosis officers are nodal officers in each District for Aids Control Programme. Similarly S.T.D. Officers are very important in Aids Control. They are also trained by Sevadham. |

Family life education: |
| |
Family Life & Aids Education Programme for Students youths is perhaps the largest & most important activity under the programme. Under this programme all the schools in Pune District are covered. This is perhaps for the first time in India that entire District is covered under Sex Education & Aids Awareness Programmes. |

Aids Prevention Activities For Truckers: |
| |
In view of the part that the Trucker population is a high risk population for STD/HIV/AIDS, on priority basis we started, in Collaboration with T. C. I. Foundation, Gurgaon the activity of intervention among the truck drivers and cleaners and sex workers on the highway to initiate a STD/HIV/AIDS Prevention Programme with effect from 1st April 2004. The main objectives of this intervention are
1) Change in sexual behavior and practices of truckers & their associates through effective behavior change communication (B.C.C.).
2) Prevention of STI.
3) Condom promotion.
4) Community mobilization.
5) Capacity building of project staff and stake holders.
6) Greater involvement of truckers’ association.
Treatment and Counseling is given through Static Clinics and one Mobile Dispensary at subsidized rates. |

Reproductive Child Health Programme: |

Taking into consideration, the work put in by Sevadham in Rural & Tribal areas for the last 20 years. Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India has appointed Sevadham Trust as a MOTHER N.G.O. for 9 Districts of Maharashtra to implement the REPRODUCTIVE CHILD HEALTH PROGERAMME.
This programme is implemented through Small NGOs of the districts to protect mainly women and children population from reproductive health problem. |

Indian System Of Medicine & Homoeopathy: |
| |
Health Ministry of Government of India has again appointed Sevadham as a MOTHER N.G.O. to implement programme of Indian System of Medicine & Homoeopathy in 9 districts of Maharashtra to propagate Ayurvedic, Homoeopathy Naturopathy, and Yoga Unani medicine for rural population. |

Mahila Mandals: |
| |
Since women are more concerned with the problem of children and women and children up to 14years together form more than 60% of the population, right from the beginning Sevadham started organizing women’s groups and involved them in different health activities.
Sevadham had more than 80 Mahila Mandals some of which are now in position to maintain health records themselves. These Mahila Mandals are also trained to develop saving habits and form self help groups of women. |

Self – Help Groups Of Women: |

These groups having more than 2000 members are routinely doing small savings and manage internal banking so as to make available the credit to needy amongst them. All the administration of this banking system is done by the group itself with guidance from the trust. Recovery of the loans is 100%. |

Maharashtra Rural Credit Programme: |
| |
Looking at the potential of self help group of women – in mobilisation the funds, very high recovery rate, a unique advantage and opportunity of poverty alleviation by making credit to the poor – banking system has shown keen interest in linking with these self-help groups. Pune District is chosen in the pilot project.
Sevadham is proud that the trust is active in this very important experiment of poverty alleviation. In this programme, Sevadham is working in close co-operation with Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal (MAVIM) and Bank of Maharashtra in Khed and Maval Taluka respectively. |

NABARD: Grant Assistance for Formation & Linkage of SHG under NABARD: |
| |
After the Maharashtra Rural Credit Programme ended in 2002, we have been associated with NABARD for their SHG Credit Linkage Programme to be implemented in Maval & Khed Talukas. Under M.R.C.P. in 13 villages 63 SHGs were formed and 36 SHGs were credit linked with total membership being 1110 numbers. Banks have disbursed Rs. 13, 76,000/- as loan to SHG members.
Next under the NABARD Programme, initially a 100 SHGs Linkage Programme had been allotted, out of which all 100 SHGs were formed and Credit Linked. Now a 300 SHGs Credit Linkage has been allotted out of which all 300 SHGs have been formed in 76 villages and 239 are Credit Linked for total loan amount of Rs. 43, 00,000/- with bankers. Loan have been advanced for the purpose like purchase of cattle’s, seeds, fertilizers, cutlery, bangles, electrical Items, grocery shop etc. |

Home Based Care Programme - Pathway II: |

Few areas of Pune have been selected to detect STD/HIV/AIDS, TB & Leprosy patients and provide counseling and treatments to them at different Static Clinics at subsidized cost. Other aims are to form SHG for income generation activity for such patients, supply nutritious food for needy HIV/AIDS patients and arrange visits by doctors, Anganwadi workers, and prominent persons for community mobilization, health education and condom distribution. |

Children Participation Programmes: |

We are implementing this programme with ASMAE a N.G.O. from Paris. (One at Bibwewadi at Pune and the other one in Sevadham Trust Ashramshala at Malegaon Khurd, Taluka Maval, District Pune.)
In the “Adolescent Programme “ in slum area of Bibwewadi, children are motivated to go to school, gain awareness on health and hygiene, develop the personality and self confidence, know their rights and make contribution to the society.
In the Ashramshala at Malegaon, under this programme we organize groups of children into clubs, to develop their personality and self confidence, and provide platform for self expression, to promote the interest in education etc. in surrounding area. |

Library at Talegaon: |
| |
This library has operation since 1980. It has recently shifted to new spacious premises. Presently there are 750 regular members including adult, children and life members. There are in all, 12,500 Books of all categories. 40 Magazines and 12 Daily News-papers are available for daily reading. The library has been given the status of “Taluka B Grade” by the Government of Maharashtra. |

Sevadham Trust Nursing School: |

We have started from this year, a Nursing School at Varale in Maval Taluka, more particularly for the benefit of girls from rural and tribal area. Presently there are total 20 students, as per permission sanctioned by Maharashtra Nursing Council Mumbai. |

Ashramshala: |
| |
From 1994 we are running Ashramshala - a residential school for Tribals at Malegaon, Taluka Maval, and District Pune. As on today we have classes’ up to 8th standard. There are 345 students including 198 boys and 147 girls. All are provided free Education, Accommodation, Meals, Uniforms, Books, Note-books, Beds, Medical help etc. |

Tribal Society: |
| |
Because of the efforts of the Sevadham towards Economic development a Co-operative Society of Adivasi’s (Tribals) in Maval Tahasil is formed. The Society aims at total development of the Tribals by undertaking traditional as well as modern economic ventures.
Lift irrigation project to benefit 200 hectors of land is completed. More than 400 Tribals are members of the society. Sevadham will remain as guiding force till the time tribals will become capable to take full responsibility. |

Eco-Development: |
| |
Sevadham has undertaken a sustainable eco-development project by planting over one lakh trees in about 100 hectors of land owned by tribal farmers in Malegaon in Ander – Maval area. This World Bank project is offered to Sevadham through Department of Social Forestry, Government of Maharashtra. Variety of plants is decided in close consultation with the beneficiaries and active participation of the beneficiaries is insisted upon through out before plantation. |

Drought Prone Area Programme: |
| |
Conserving the local resources and watershed management of the area is the key for the development in any region. Since Sevadham is aiming at improving standard of life of the people and total development of the villages it is decided to take up this activity. As a first step Sevadham has undertaken Watershed Development Project in five villages in Khed Tahasil under the centrally assisted scheme – ‘Draught Prone Area Programme’ through District rural development Authority. |

Research in leprosy:
The trust with the help of Dept. of science & technology conducted a research project Clinical Bacteriological & histo - pathological correlation in cases of Leprosy before, during & after treatment with M. D.T.
